Xeomin and Botox post-op instructions
WHEN CAN I EXPECT RESULTS?
You may begin to feel some effects as early as 5 days after injection, and by two weeks feel the more complete effect. In studies, the maximum effect occurred at 30 days. The typical duration of effect was up to 3 months in clinical trials but may last significantly longer or shorter in individual patients.
You may have some slight redness of the skin around the injection sites for the first day – this is not an allergic reaction. Immediately after injection, a “bee sting” swelling may be noted. In some people, a very slight swelling may occure, that will subside by the first day or two. Though uncommon, you may develop bruising. If you notice either of these, hold pressure for fifteen minutes and apply cold compresses for a few minutes. Other important factors to remember include:
Remain upright (no bending over or reclining) for four hours
Do not massage or scratch the injection site
On the day of treatment, (after injections are complete) avoid heavy aerobic activity, hot showers/baths, and consumption of alcohol
The treatment area may be gently washed a few hours after treatment, avoiding aggressive scrubbing or rubbing
Sunbathing or excessive UV exposure should be avoided until the redness or swelling have subsided
